Stolen bike lands man in court

A 20-year-old man today denied stealing and receiving a motorbike.

Shaquille Godfrey pleaded not guilty to dishonestly receiving a Yamaha V50 to the value of $1,800, knowing or believing it was stolen between January 15 and March 22.

Alternatively, he was charged with taking the bike without the consent of the owner between the same dates.

Mr Godfrey denied that charge as well and will stand trial on July 31.

He was given $2,000 bail with one surety.
