ACE sponsors school Tennis Tournament
The Middle schools tennis tournament was hailed a success. The schools participating were: Bermuda High School, Clearwater Middle School, Mount St. Agnes, Saltus Grammar School, Somersfield Academy, Whitney Institute Middle School, and TN Tatem Middle School.
Coleridge Place, president of the BLTA, said in a press release: “Today was another successful day at the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium, where Middle School students played at an extremely high level. This programme continues to be an important component in the development of tennis in Bermuda.”
Representatives from ACE Group’s sponsorship committee Jonathan Allen, underwriter, ACE Bermuda and Roseann DoCouto, communications specialist, were present at the event to witness the students’ achievements.
They said: “ACE is proud to have sponsored the BLTA’s schools programme for the past thirteen years. During this time, we have seen the school’s tennis programme develop and grow from reaching a few hundred children at a handful of schools to over 4,500 children at schools Island-wide. We commend the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association, president Coleridge Place, vice-president David Lambert, school coordinators Brent Smith and Tara Lambert; and the many tennis coaches and PE teachers for their commitment to the programme and their dedication to developing Bermuda’s future tennis stars.”
