Ballroom dancers from all across the US will dance their way to Bermuda this fall on a special dance cruise.
The Providence Journal reports the event is the USA Dance’s Fifth National Dance Cruise, September 29-October 6, aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Explorer of the Seas.
The website said: “As many as 200 ballroom dancers, ranging from beginners to advanced, are expected to participate in more than 60 workshops and a wide variety of social dancing activities during the one week cruise departing from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, NJ.
“The cruise will feature a full schedule of ballroom, Latin and club-style dance classes as well as USA Dance’s popular Dance Host programme for single ladies.”
Jean Krupa, social dance vice president for USA Dance said: “A dance cruise like this is a great opportunity for social dancers of all levels — beginner, intermediate and advanced to learn and improve their technique and skills.
“At the same time, they’ll get to meet and socialize with others who share their love for all things dance.”
The cruise will also feature two of America’s premier dance instructors, Dan and Silke Calloway of Bethesda, Maryland, who recently performed for President and Mrs Obama at the White House.
The Calloways are former Asian Pacific and United States Professional Ten-Dance Grand Finalists.
Prices for the cruise start at $999 per person, double occupancy, and include all workshops and social events. n
