Bermuda kept up their 100-per-cent record at the Twenty20 World Cup qualifying event in Florida with a commanding 46-run victory over Cayman Islands.

In the first of their ICC Americas Division 1 double-header today, Bermuda lost the toss and were put into bat. However, Dion Stovell and captain Stephen Outerbridge provided their country with a superb platform, putting on a stand of 81 for the first wicket.

Stovell was the first out in the ninth over for 32, while Outerbridge produced his best innings of the tournament so far, hitting 59 off 47 balls.

Janeiro Tucker (46 off 27 balls) and Lionel Cann (29 off 16) then propelled the total to 169 for three off 20 overs. Cann the last man out at the death.

In reply, Cayman were never really allowed to free their arms as they reached 53 for two at the innings' halfway stage. Bermuda, moving in for the kill, tightened their grip on the game and their opponents were never really in with a chance, finishing on 123 for nine.

Pick of the bowling attack were Tucker (three for 22), Greg Maybury (two for 22) and the economic Malachi Jones (one for 12).

Bermuda play USA today at 4pm Bermuda time. Report to follow at stumps.
