Fire at Quickie Lickie Laundromant

At 1419 hours the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service responded to a structural fire at Quickie Lickie Laundromat located on #74 Serpentine Road, Pembroke.  Upon arrival at 1423 hours, firefighters discovered a fire inside a drying unit which had articles of clothing. 

Firefighters used forced entry to gain access into the area that the drying unit was located as it was locked with a dead bolt. The quick actions of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading into other areas within the building. The fire was contained and extinguished within several minutes of the arrival of the fire appliance.  There were a total of two vehicles and five personnel that attended the scene.

An investigation is being carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
