Bermuda maintained their fine start to the ICC Americas Division 1 Twenty20 campaign with a six-wicket win over Suriname.
The victory means it’s two wins from two for skipper Stephen Outerbridge’s men ahead of tomorrow’s matches against Cayman Islands and USA.
Fielding first against Suriname, Bermuda restricted their opponents to 138 for eight off their allotted 20 overs. Rodney Trott was the top performer with the ball, taking three wickets for 17 runs from his four overs.
He was ably backed up by Malachi Jones (one for 17) and Janeiro Tucker (one for 26), while the fielding was sharp and resulted in three run-outs.
In response, Bermuda carefully accumulated the runs required, with Tucker providing the necessary impetus in the second half of the innings with a 65 not out to drive his side over the line.
Bermuda’s match against Cayman starts at 11am Bermuda time on Wednesday.
