Marriage comedy picks up Golden Inkwell Award

Catherine Hay has earned herself the Golden Inkwell Award at the 11th annual Famous For Fifteen Minutes playwrights' competition.

Her satirical play, NACAD (the Nuptial and Courtship Assessment Department), was chosen over five other plays entered into this year’s contest.

The comedy follows a young couple who want to get married but have to go through a stringent, government-run compatibility assessment before they are granted permission.

The soulless assessor tasked with quizzing the couple gets the shock of her life when she begins to delve in to this couple’s rather unconventional sex life.
