Are you up for the Hip Hop Challenge?
Launched by Inter-Island Communications, the contest is open to all who believe in their unique skill and feel worthy of being selected to compete for over $5,000 in cash prizes. The ten highest scoring acts will audition tomorrow, Saturday June 15, and will have the opportunity to perform during the finals in mid-July.
In their series of live events during 2013, yet another talent contest will come to the Ruth Seaton James Center for Performing Arts on July 13 at 8pm.
Managing director of Inter-Island Communications Gwen Blakeney said: “Hip hop is a part of the successful music format on Hott107.5 and as a result of it being hugely popular among the younger demographic, it was decided to produce a live event in response to several requests to hold such a competition.
“Hott107.5 has often promoted local entertainment events, with the popular Bermuda Idol and Bermuda, So You Think You Can Dance contests having proved hugely successful among a very large segment of the population.”
The company hopes to attract sponsorship support from the conscientious business community, without whom these and other events featuring local talent would not be possible to showcase. The Hip Hop Challenge is sponsored by LinkBermuda, RedLaser Ltd., Paint ‘N’ Stuff and Electronic Entertainment. The winner will receive $3,000, second place $1,000 and third place $500. Hip hop acts that audition tomorrow, will be required to perform with or without musical accompaniment. Auditions will be held from 12 noon to 3pm at the Hott1075 radio station.
