‘I can have any woman I want’

Uzimon has become a fixture of the NYC reggae scene from regular performances on the college circuit in the US and Canada. 

Holding it down at some of the top venues on the east coast with his all star NYC band, and appearing regularly at NYC’s legendary weekly reggae night Downtown Top Ranking, that is host to the likes of everyone from Sean Paul to Johnny Osborne, to receiving heavy airplay from top reggae DJs Max Glazer, (Federation Sound) and DJ Autograph, Uzimon’s cult status is firmly in place. 

UZI Recently signed with “Phonocaster Music” , prominent European booking agents, for his first full length European Tour in November, opening for legendary musical acts “The Slackers” and “The Mad Caddies”. 

He will be performing alongside reggae legend Beres Hammond and Bermuda’s own Collie Buddz at the Rockin The Rock concert at Par-la-Ville car park on July 31. Interview by Sarah Lagan.

What is your most frivolous vice?

Multi-Vitamins.

What human trait do you dislike the most?

Muppet business. Muppetry. And pure ignorance. 

Who is your fantasy woman?

I have no fantasy woman. I can have any woman I want, therefore never need to fantasize. Heavy lies the crown. 

What film character would you be?

Gandalf, from Lord of the Rings. Or Jaws, from Jaws. 

What is your best physical attribute?

My Physique.

Least favourite thing about your appearance?

I don’t have eyes that can reverse, to look at myself, so I can see how beautiful I am, always.

Tell us your best joke?

 Politicians. 

What is your earliest memory?

Tell us your most embarrassing memory?

The year I won 20 Grammys in all categories, for one chune. 

What makes you the proudest?

Looking in the mirror.

When did you last laugh out loud and why?

Real badman never laugh.

Not being able to watch myself perform.

Any one of my groundbreaking chunes.

A mosquito. (In reference to an Uzi song where he comes back and bites big bottoms).

A big cone.

The moment of my birth. the day the world the changed forever.

UZIMON.

Dealing with Paparazzi.

Real badman never take good advice.

If you weren’t a reggae artist, what would you be?

Picasso.

Every second we closer.

Chocolate ice cream with sprinkles

I have no bad habits.

My life. And my Xbox360.

What is your dream location to settle down?

Real badman never settle down, but I would have to say Mars.

Hard to say. My prolific contributions to art and humanity, or my wicked red bean soup recipe.
