The National Sports Centre was filled with spectators for the last night of the NatWest Island Games.

The games held last night were track and field events with relays, triple jumps and half marathons.

The Bermuda teams brought the crowd to their feet, winning two silvers and two gold.

Bermuda won gold in the women's 4x100 metre relay and the women's 4x400 metre relay.

The team was for 4x100 relay was Natasha Trott, Jasmine Brunson, Kerri Furbert and Shianne Smith.

A short while later, Williams and Ashley Berry joined Trott and Smith to win gold in the 4x400 relay.

Speaking after the win, 18-year-old Trott said: “I think it was a fabulous race considering we met up two hours ago.

‘It looked like we were there for a year.

“I wasn’t nervous leading the relay. You got to do what you got to do.

“I’m pleased with the games so far, considering it’s my first games.

“I have many more.”

Smith collected five gold medals in track and field and a bronze.

The Bermuda men's team of Bruce DeGrilla, Kyle Webb, Ethan Phillip and Justin Donowa grabbed silver in the 4x100 relay.

Darico Clarke, Dage Minors, Kyree Govia and Philip ran the 4x400 and again grabbed a silver medal.

Earlier in the evening, Williams won silver in the women's 800 metres while Minors won bronze in the men's 1500 metres.

The half-marathon was the final event with many competitors not finishing due to the heat and humidity.

Bermuda’s Stephen Allen didn’t finish the race. Christopher Harris finished fifth and was the first Bermudian to cross the line.

Victoria Fiddick was the first Bermudian woman to cross the line and won bronze with teammate Deion Breary.

The closing ceremonies began when the medal presentations had finished.
