Woman denies cannabis smuggling

A 26-year-old woman today denied smuggling more than 200 grams of cannabis into Bermuda.

Alshanta Hassell of Sandys denied importing the controlled drug cannabis into Bermuda on June 9.

She also denied cannabis possession with intent to supply on the same date.

The amount of drugs in question is 216 grams.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the matter for trial at a later date and released Hassell on bail.
