Man charged with bus stop sex attack

A 30-year-old man appeared in court today facing sex assault charges.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with sexually assaulting a 51-year-old woman on June 10 and causing her bodily harm.

The alleged attack happened at the bus stop in the early hours of June 10.

The defendant was not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard in the Supreme Court.

After a lengthy bail hearing, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the defendant into custody until July 23.

He was represented by Victoria Pearman.
