The man who cannot be named for legal reasons was charged with sexually assaulting a woman and threatening to use a knife.
He was also charged with depriving the woman of her liberty and unlawfully wounding her in an increased penalty zone, within 100 metres of Warwick Long Bay. The alleged incident happened on Monday.
The defendant was not required to plea as the matters are indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court. The court heard the victim and the defendant do not know each other.
The matter was adjourned to July 12 and the defendant was remanded into custody.
