Father in court for child's truancy
A 53-year-old man appeared in court this morning charged with not sending his child to school on a regular basis.
Michael Lopes pleaded not guilty to being a person of a child, a pupil at Berkeley Institute, failing to secure the regular attendance of the child at the school.
His wife Connie was due to be charged as well but he said she was at home sick.
Not details of the case were given and the matter was adjourned to July 17 when Mrs Lopes would be present.
Mr Lopes was released on $500 bail.
