Woodley and Brown face Cricket Board ban
Cricket bad boys Winton Woodley and Kirk Brown are facing potential Bermuda Cricket Board bans.
The Under-19 national team pair are due to appear before the BCB’s disciplinary committee this week to answer charges of bringing the gentlemen’s game into disrepute while on national duty.
Western Stars player Woodley and Somerset Cricket Club’s Brown have landed in hot water with local cricket’s governing body for refusing to suit up for their country for a crunch match at the recent Sir Garfield Sobers Invitational Youth Tournament in Barbados.
It is understood the two players became upset after they were overlooked to open their team’s bowling attack just prior to a contest that Bermuda eventually won against their rivals from St. Vincent.
As a result of their actions, both players were ordered by the BCB to return from Barbados earlier than their teammates.
Woodley and Brown have already been banned by their respective clubs.
Sources say they face further punishment from the BCB for their shenanigans in the Caribbean.
