The Bermudian capped her final year at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga by helping the Lady Mocs to a 13th overall Southern Conference crown earlier this week.
The guard scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Lady Mocs come from behind to defeat second seeded Samford 72-67 and preserve their unblemished record in conference finals.
That the Lady Mocs prevailed owed much to Fray who led a late revival that rescued the tournament's top seeds from the jaws of defeat.
The 22 year-old senior added four valuable points down the stretch to help her team erase an 11 point deficit and go on to clinch an eighth conference title in the past decade.
Among those present at the Time Warner Cable Arena in North Carolina on Monday to witness Fray and her teammates advance to the NCAA Tournament, also known as March Madness, was proud mom Jennifer.
She said: "She (Jenaya) just couldn't stop smiling. She was the first one to cut the net and she just wore it around her neck. She was just ecstatic."
Fray thrived during the regular season, averaging 13.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.6 assist per game.
She was twice named conference player of the week and more recently named to the 2010 Southern Conference All Tournament Second Team.
Also helping the Lady Mocs rally during Monday's final was the team's fans who played their part from the stands.
"The fans got right into it. They were on their feet and I think that's what brought the team through," added Fray's mom. "They could taste it (victory) and they just wanted to win. It was unbelievable."[[In-content Ad]]
