WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27: Bermuda actually has nine athletes competing at the 2012 London Olympics – it’s just that Jenaya Wade-Fray will be suiting up for Great Britain.

Wade-Fray was named part of Great Britain’s women’s Olympic basketball team on Friday.

The 23-year-old guard made her debut for Britain against Bulgaria in 2010.

She averaged 4.3 points with 1.3 rebounds per game as she helped GB qualify for the EuroBasket Finals in 2011.

She has played in 24 games for Britain.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chatanooga in 2010, Wade-Fray has been playing for UWIC Archers in the UK when not suiting up for the national team.

Leading up to the Olympics, GB’s team has a full schedule starting with a game against Angola on July 2 in a four team tournament that also features Russia and China.

On July 18 there is a highly anticipated match against the American women at the MEN Arena in Manchester.

GB women’s basketball squad:

  • Dominique Allen
  • Rose Anderson
  • Kim Butler
  • Stef Collins
  • Temi Fagbenle
  • Chantelle Handy
  • Jo Leedham
  • Julie Page
  • Natalie Stafford
  • Azania Stewart
  • Rachael Vanderwal
  • Jenaya Wade-Fray.
