Hamilton Tsunamis upset the Hamilton Parish Chargers by pulling off a 42 to 29 victory in the BBA-CellularOne Basketball League. The previously winless Tsunamis got 15 points from Shawn Palmer and 8 rebounds from Dale Jackson.

Mike Smith led the Chargers with 12 points while Chae Powell had 13 rebounds in their first loss of the season.

Smith's 55,

Southampton 44,

The Smith's Wildcats improved their record to 2-1 with a 55 to 44 triumph over the Southampton Titans.

Brothers Jason and Steven Simons led Smith's to the win as big brother Steven pulled down nine boards while little bro Jason knocked in 27 points.

Sinclair Vickers had 12 points for Southampton.

Paget 43, Somerset 29

The Paget Bearcats are the early frontrunner to win the league title as they remain unbeaten. Richard Warner had 23 points while Jonathan Lowe added 15 rebounds in the win. Paget appears to have lots of depth as last week's leaders - Chris Crumpler and Dale Butler - were different from this game's leaders.

Pembroke 29, Warwick 22

The Warwick Rim Rockers could be the league's whipping boys as they fell to their straight defeat. Greg Todd once again led the Pembroke Cane Toads in scoring as he put in 11 points while Simon Onabowale cleaned the glass for eight boards. The Cane Toads are now 2-1.

Kent Tacklyn led the Rim Rockers with eight points. Derrick Hendrickson had eight rebounds in the loss.

St. George's 60,

Devonshire 55

Ian Lim had 17 points for the winless Devonshire Dragons. John Lee had 18 rebounds, the most by any player this past weekend.

St. George's has now won two games in a row after opening the season with a loss.

Coaches should put players first and last names on the score sheets or their players' names will not appear in the basketball report.[[In-content Ad]]
