Trash truck breakdown causes delay in collection

By Ministry of Public Works- | Comments: 0 | Leave a comment

THURSDAY, MAR. 3: The Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works wishes to apologize to members of the public whose garbage was not been collected as scheduled earlier this week.

As a result of the breakdown of a few vehicles, garbage collection in the east end was not completed yesterday.  However, we can confirm that all east end garbage has now been collected.

It is anticipated that garbage from the west end, scheduled for collection today, will be cleared by this evening.

The Waste Management Section is working on a new collections schedule that will see garbage collected five days a week rather than four, the current arrangement.  The new schedule will lead to operational efficiencies.

Members of the public are reminded to separate their recyclable materials from their household waste and to place tin, aluminum and glass (TAG) into blue bags for collection.

Household waste should also be placed in a plastic bag and should not contain any liquids, sharp objects, or animal or human faeces.

For more information on residential waste disposal, please refer to the Blue Pages in the Bermuda Telephone Directory.[[In-content Ad]]
