Hall of Fame umpire Michael Preece will be honoured with a softball tournament that starts next week. The tournament officially gets underway on Tuesday at 6pm at the Michael Preece Softball Stadium when BEST Shipping takes on Tuff Dogs.

The tournament is comprised of three divisions: men's, women's and co-ed.

The men's teams held a draft to choose its teams with Jevanie 'Smoky' Fubler the first overall pick.

Blue team: Steve O'Flynn, Jon Gazzard, Joe Hooks, McLaren Lowe, Andrew Simpson, Adam Mattal, Paul Aviles, Gerald Simons, Allan Walker, Jason Ming, Decosta Larrier, John Jackson, Dean Fudge, Shaheed Umrani and Bervin Lee.

Red team: Mark Herauf, Kevin Taylor, Johnny Ray, Nyon Steede, Jason Simons, Jeff Jane, Pat Reardon, Shawn Wood, Mike Jardine, Giuseppe Russo, Ryan Robain, Nelson Arruda, Jason Green, Dion Ball, David Roache.

Grey team: Steven Simons, Tracey Bean, Danny Cook, Troy Dart, Jermaine Jeffers, Garic Swainson, Matthew Hatward, Preston Mallory, Bradley Barton, Jonathan Correia, Nathan Darrell, Doug Tufts, Paul Thorne, Don Burgess.

White team: Justin Barritt, Terence Corday, Ryan Gaglio, Andrrew Burgess, Jevanie Fubler, Paul DeCouto, Josh Strang, Richard Todd, Richard Madeiros, Paulo Arruda, Kyle Smith, Many Faria, Matthew Harper and Alan Humphreys.

The co-ed tournament features 12 teams.

Group 1: Southland Swingers is the top seed. Other teams include Marsh Madness, Robin Hood and Olympia Capital.

Group 2: ACE Kings and Precision Cabling Panthers are co top seeds. Docksiders and Team 'No name' round out the group.

Group 3: Tuff Dogs is the top seed. An improved BEST Shipping could challenge along with Killer Goldfish while Scared Hitless is the fourth seed.[[In-content Ad]]
