FRIDAY, AUGUST 26: The Pizza House Racing Team hold a narrow two-point advantage over Team Tuned Motorcycle Racing in the first ever Bermuda Sun Riders Cup.
Pizza House has 812 points to Team Tuned’s 810.
But lurking within striking distance is 911 Racing Team with 801 points.
Dare to Dream Racing Bermuda is in fourth with 368 points.
The Pizza House is being led by father and son Shannon Ciasey and Jazari Caisey, but also includes Wytiko Showers in the GP 125 Class and D’Nico Durrant.
Team Tuned has Bruce Degrilla (read the story about Degrilla being selected for the Youth Commonwealth Games), Kewaun Gilbert and Shae Darrell while 911 Racing’s stable of riders include Bryce Place, Hayley Place, Tamia Place and Coolridge Fubler.
Dare to Dream’s team includes Keanu Wilson, Jahi Foggo and Khren Wilson.
The Bermuda Sun Riders Cup is new addition to motorcycle racing this year.
It will be awarded to the racing team that accumulates the most points over the course of the season.
Cyril Whitter said: “This year we are actually recognizing these teams that can register as a team free of charge, register their participants and note who their sponsors are if they have sponsors.
“Basically we have had teams come together, whether it’s actually an official team or families, spray their vehicles the same colours and race under a banner.”
Each racing team can consists of a minimum of two riders and no more than four, with the best two results on any given race day to count towards championship points.
