The Renegades Ladies 2nd’s got the Founders’ Day under way with a narrow victory over The Rest.

Orla Joyce had twice put Renegades in front but The Rest pulled scores back through Sally Pile and Amber Karaz.

On the final play of the match, captain for the day Susie Blasetti rounded the defence of The Rest to run in the winning score for the Renegades.

The final game of the day was played in glorious sunshine as The Rest eventually proved too strong for the Renegades.

The Rest got off to a perfect start scoring two quick tries through Lachlan Armour and Durnferd Davis, with Shauntino Simmons adding a conversions for a 12-0 lead. However, Renegades would pull two scores of their own back through scrum-half for the day Ian Henderson, one coming from good support running following breaks by Kurt Thomas and Scott Slater, and the second being a snipe around the ruck on the Rest’s goal line.

The second half proved to belong to the Rest as they ran in further tries through Shauntino Simmons (2), Aldo Campbell and Durnferd Davis (2).  n
