Thanksgiving Classic returns for basketballers
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23: A Bermuda select squad from the various high schools will do battle from three overseas teams in this year’s Bermuda Thanksgiving Basketball Classic.
The tournament begins tomorrow at the Berkeley Institute with tip-off at 7pm and 8:30pm over the course of the tournament.
Teams in this year’s Classic include Georgetown District High from Canada, Northwood High School and Boca Raton Christian High School from Louisiana and the Bermuda High School Select Team.
This is a round-robin format with the championship being contested on November 26.
Thursday’s games will see Northwood take on Boca Raton at 7pm with Bermuda facing Georgetown at 8:30pm.
Friday will see each team play two games.
Bermuda plays Northwood at 12:30pm while Boca Raton will battle Georgetown at 2pm.
The evening matches has Bermuda v Boca Raton at 7pm with Georgetown taking on Northwood in the 8:30pm nightcap.
The consolation championship will see the third and fourth place squads play at 7pm with the championship game tipping off at 8:30pm
Tickets are $5 for adults, $50 for patrons (includes admission to all games plus food and drink) and $100 for VIP (admission to games, food, drink and a T-shirt.
