FRIDAY, DEC. 14: The Baltimore Blast are eight games into this season and remain undefeated.
To some it may appear that things are going easy and games may not be that hard, but things couldn’t be further from the truth.
We have been taking one game at a time, focusing on the team we are about to face.
Each contest we start with the goals of limiting our mistakes and finishing our chances.
Which brings me to this week’s topic — it takes hard work to stay at the top.
Battle
No matter what field you are in, whether it be sports, business or education, you can expect a battle when you are at top of your game.
Once you have successfully made it to the top, you must raise the bar even higher. You must work even harder to maintain your focus and do not allow a complacent mind set to set in.
Being at the top of your field requires your full attention. You will not be able to relax or take your eye off your achievements.
You must not settle for anything less than greatness and continue to grow in your weak areas and have no excuses for any mishaps you may face.
You must be very careful you do not get caught up in the entitlement of the position.
Once you are at the top others will be gunning for you. Yes, you will face many people who will want to pull you down or some that might be a hater of your success. Do not take aim at those people just have a sharper eye on your own direction.
Getting to the top is a challenge within itself, staying there is a greater task.
I have seen many people fall off their pedestal due to their lack of focus, vision, sacrifice and collaboration.
Please do not let this happen to you. Be true to who you are and never let the power of fame or fortune destroy the real you.
Until next time!
