Stamp collection celebrates life of Queen Elizabeth II

FRIDAY, MAR. 4: Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kim Wilson is pleased to announce that the Bermuda Post Office Philatelic Bureau has released an omnibus issue of in commemoration of three significant milestones in the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Lifetime of Service.

This Jubilee Event is also being commemorated by ten British Isles and Commonwealth countries and this is a three part series of a Diamond Jubilee limited edition collection. Spread over the full three years, the stamps in this superb collection feature stunning portraits of Queen Elizabeth II and her consort Prince Philip through the decades. The first in the series was released on Thursday, March 3, 2011.

On 6 February 2011, Her Royal Highness began the 60th year of her reign and is set to celebrate her 85th birthday on 21 April this year. In 2012 Her Majesty becomes the only Monarch other than Queen Victoria to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee; an event culminating in June with Jubilee Day, before the focus shifts to the Diamond Coronation Anniversary in 2013. This collection of commemorative stamps spans this remarkable period in Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

The stamps will be available in 10c, 35c, 70c, 85c, $1.10 and $1.25 values and are being sold at the Bermuda Post Office and all sub-offices.[[In-content Ad]]
