It’s an event for the sophisticated and classy, according to its promoter, and all the band want you to do is dance.

A New Year’s Eve Evening of Elegance, held at the Fairmont Southampton, will feature American Idol finalist George Huff, and Jimmy Vali & the Uptown Mix. Vali, who has performed in Bermuda several times for corporate events, says when people come out to the event, they should expect “dancing, dancing, dancing!”.

Vali & Uptown Mix are currently playing for nearly 2000 people per night, and Vali says they have difficulty getting people to leave events because they enjoy their music so much.

Kevin Bean, of KDB Entertainment, said, “This event is for the classy, the stylish and the mature only…it’s a matured evening, you can dress up and feel good and relaxed.”

“There will be lots of dancing and celebration. Both George and the Uptown mix will be celebrating at 12 o’clock, so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Huff, who performed in Bermuda in July of this year, can’t wait to return, according to Bean. “He has nothing but good things to say about Bermuda. He loves it to death… he’s promoting his new album, which is doing fairly well. It’s more of an inspirational album,” said Bean.

The event will also include performances by Khalilah Smith, Silhouette, backed by James Richardson and his band, and the In Motion dancers. There will be a five-course dinner and dancing with cocktails at 8pm and dinner at 9pm.
