Snappers close the gap on Piranhas

Snappers edged closer to rivals Piranhas with a 3-1 triumph over Barracuda. The team used good performance from Judy Aldred (179 scratch game, 621 handicap series) and Ann Mitchell (169 game) to win the match.

Piranhas split their four games with Jellyfish.

Porgies whitewashed dolphins to take all four points from the bottom club. Other scores saw Hinds and Cow Pollies split, Marlins take three from Orca, Mackerel beat Tuna 3-1, and Goldfish win three of four from Wahoo.

David Mello rolled a league high 259 game in a night of many 200s. Joseph Benevides (221), Ralph Dill (214), Stephen Paul (213), Bobby DeGraff (212) and Tony Vibal (200) all managed 200 games.

Karen Simmons led all ladies with a 202. Patrice Tucker (192) and Brenda Burrows (191) had the second and third highest games.

Simmons led all bowlers with a 662 series. Degraff's 651 was the best amongst the men.
