Smith wins Rookie of the Year award
Smith, played his prep basketball at Warwick Academy under the tutelage of Steve Simons.
Mounties head coach Bruce McMillan said the 6'2" forward "has shown steady improvement over the season, and especially helped us in offensive and defensive rebounding. His offensive production per minute was excellent and next year we expect even more success from Akil."
He added: "Akil has been a great addition to our team. With his continuing improvement he certainly has the potential to help us reach the top."
Mount Allison plays in the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association where it finished with an 11-10 conference record for the 2007-08 season.[[In-content Ad]]
