Simons re-elected as BOA president
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7: The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) announced the following persons have been elected to its executive board and will oversee the BOA’s activities, programmes and development for the ensuing quadrennial (which runs until 2016).
President: Judy Simons, JP
Vice President: Brenda Dale
Secretary General: Philip Guishard
Treasurer: Carlos Lee
Member: Stanley Douglas
Member: Patty Petty
Member: Chuck Millican
Member: David Sabir
Advisor: Charles Marshall
Advisor: Jon Beard
Legal Counsel: Kathleen Keane
The chairpersons of the BOA’s committees are as follows: Technical Committee - Chuck Millican; Finance - Carlos Lee; PR & Marketing - Lee Greene. The Chairperson of the Women in Sport Committee will be named by the President in due course.
Mrs. Simons, who has been appointed BOA President for a second term, said: “I am honoured to have been named president for another four years. It gives me the opportunity to continue to work closely with my fellow board members, committee members and BOA staff to build upon the great work that we’ve done since 2008.
"Moving ahead, our focus will continue to be on ensuring that Bermuda has strong representation at the international sports festivals, that we improve programmes for youth, that we continue to raise the profile of the BOA in the community and share the Olympic ideals.”
