Sex aids are 'sinful' and have no place in the act of love
Local store sells intimate apparel, designed to enhance lovemaking, on the Internet
James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Great! Is this what Bermuda needs - another avenue to add to the depletion of the moral fibre of our society? In the article, a statement was made to seemingly support the necessity of such items that will be sold via the Internet or by the visiting customer. The statement suggested that this shop, and all that it entails, ought to be seen as quite natural, because that is how we all got here. Pretty interesting statement! Actually, I thought this to be a general statement that I should not take lightly.
You see, in my mind, I was procreated out of a moment of covenant love, commitment, and passion between my parents. The thought of my parents needing to have additional support, help, or enhancement of any sort was all a bit much for me. Yet, in the spirit of true investigative methods, I needed to make sure. So this past Friday night, I asked Raymond and Dianne Russell if they had any additional help in my procreation. Thank God! Yes, thank God, they confirmed what I was thinking. They needed no additional pieces of plastic, rubber, or steel in order to produce me.
Oh, how glad I was to hear that pure love was enough to bring about the reality of Maria. Well, with this information, I was personally assured that the owners of this "store" had gotten it wrong. We all did not come by way of the devices, which will be available at this store.
I certainly know through personal experience that devices are not needed to be involved in the reproductive process. No. There must be a level of dissatisfaction in the act of intimacy, which brings about the need to have "extra" help. Sad to say, but the truth of the matter in most cases is that if extra-help is needed, then perhaps it means that the love and care for those involved in intimate acts may not be enough to support a lasting relationship.
I don't get it. When additional help is paid for and used in order to bring about pleasure, this makes a statement that perhaps each person may not be enough. If this is so, eventually even the latest sex toy will not be enough to keep a relationship going.
Well, Bermuda, I was encouraged by two people in the school system to go and check out the website. (I must admit that when I read the article, I figured I would just avoid even discussing this matter because of my disgust towards it.) I decided that I was going to be socially responsible, and so before I wrote or spoke about this matter, I decided to check it out - once.
Let me first say that I understand one hundred per cent why customers will prefer to order these products via the Internet. Yup! Sure do! I mean most adults would be ashamed to be known to purchase such items. I mean, can you imagine running into a co-worker, a relative, or dare I say it, a church member at this store. Oh, the horrors of it all!
I will not tarry here long. However, let me say that I am greatly concerned. Everyone in Bermuda must know that this website is readily available to any child at a moment's notice. Yes, I know that I should be monitoring my children and what they are doing. Yeah, right. Can we be real here or what? This is Bermuda 2009. How many children (under the age of even twelve) will make their way to this website and "expose" themselves to those things which are far too dangerous for them to be aware of at such tender ages. How many of our sexually out-of-control teenagers will now be in a worst state?
Why do we want a sex store right in the path of Secondary Schools and not far from Primary Schools? How dangerous is this? (Hey! If they sell drugs near a school zone, there is an additional penalty.) Yet, this store gets publicity for two weeks straight in the local media. In the meantime, I look around our island and see former students whose lives are in a downward spiral due to poor habits and poor choices. Let me rest it here for today. Many of those who are challenged to live a normal life are challenged because of the lack of normalcy they experienced in their childhood. Bermuda, this store is not normal; it is sinful.
Sin produces lust and then there is death. What are we setting up as a part of the death trap for our children?
Bermuda, when will we begin to choose life for our children? Bermuda, will the filthy lure of money once again be the impetus for allowing such a store to exist and flourish? Respice finem.[[In-content Ad]]
