'Secure your belongings' - police

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18: Police are encouraging the public to secure their personal items before leaving them unattended in a public place.

A press statement said as summer approached, locals and tourists should take extra care with their belongings.

Recently there have been reported incidents where items such as handbags and personal property were left unattended and stolen.

Police are also advising riders to secure their belongings in the compartment underneath the cycle.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police by contacting 295-0011.
