Scott: I'm not the favourite
Scott, the defending Sinclair Packwood Memorial Cycle Race champ, said Miller's the one with the cycling pedigree.
Which is what you might expect him to be since he has two gold and two silver medals from the Commonwealth games.
Then there's little matter of him winning over 200 pro cycling races.
Scott says that if there's a target on anyone's back, it's on Miller's.
"My goal is to get it respectable and make it down with everybody," Scott said.
"If I'm still there at City Hall then I might have a chance, but I'd put my dime on a different horse."
Scott added: "The clear favourite has to be Graeme Miller, the former pro who's down here riding exceptionally well."
He said others who could be in the mix for the title are Mark hatherly, Garth Thomson and Arthur Pitcher.
"They're all riding very well and there are a bunch of others who could win this."
Scott said the pace will be much faster this year and a new race record could be set.
"In the past it's been everybody playing team tactics and no one wanted to push the pace, but if the races so far this year are any indication, then it could be close to a record pace.
"This is arguably the best field that this race has ever had so I expect it to be fast from the start."
He said having more riders and more teams has helped fuel cycling's resurgence.
"This year it is very competitive out there and there's a number of people who could be riding well enough to win this race."
Scott said: "The goal of a race like this is to get rid of as many people as you can. This is going to be an interesting express."
Scott is one of a handful of riders who have won the race twice.[[In-content Ad]]
