School re-opening delayed

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7: The Principal at the Clearwater Middle School, Mr. Carlos Symonds, today announced that due to ongoing maintenance at the school, Clearwater would not open for classes on 8th September, 2010 as planned.

Mr. Symonds said that after discussions with the teachers regarding the maintenance works and while awaiting the outcome of follow-up air quality samples, a recommendation had been made that the opening of Clearwater be delayed until Friday, 10th September, 2010.

The recommendation had been supported by the Commissioner of Education, and the missed instructional days will be made up during the course of the school year.

Mr. Symonds noted that he and his staff were in the process of calling the parents to let them know about the changes and they all looked forward to greeting students on Friday.
