The Paget Bearcats claimed the top seed in the BBA CellularOne basketball playoffs, but there was bad news for the Somerset Flyers and Devonshire Dragons who were bounced out of the postseason with losses.

Smith's Wildcats 57, Somerset Flyers 33

Steven Simons 22 points helped ground the Flyers' postseason hopes. Wildcats team-mate Lloyd Peterkin added seven rebounds. Henry Gonzalez had nearly half of the Flyers points with 15 while Jason Lowe collected six rebounds.

Paget Bearcats 71,

Hamilton Parish 50

Richard Warner pumped in 30 points and Aaron Jackson collected 10 rebounds for the winners as they now have the easiest road to the championship game.

Chae Powell (23 points) and Shawn Broan (15 rebounds) were the stars for Hamilton Parish.

Hamilton Tsunamis 67, Devonshire Dragons 63

It was tough luck for the Dragons two weeks in a row as they were narrowly beaten again.

Lawrence Fox, 13 points, along with Jerry Friday, 13 rebounds, formed a lethal combination for the Tsunamis.

John Lee and Ian Lim each had 20 points for the Dragons while Mishael Paynter grabbed 11 rebounds.

Southampton Titans 53, Warwick Rim Rockers 42

Jordan Knight's 15 points and Brad Mernderema's 12 boards helped Titans prevail against the Rim Rockers in spite of Vernell Lambe's 16 points. He also cleaned the glass for nine rebounds in missing out on his double-double.

St. George's 73,

Pembroke Cane Toads 44

Dean Jones' eight rebounds and Johnny Lugo's 17 points were more than enough for St. George's to claim the second seed for the playoffs. The Cane Toads got a sterling effort out of Lee Greene who scored 20 and Simon Onabowole who had eight rebounds.[[In-content Ad]]
