The Summer Softball League has suspended play at least until Thursday as a result of Hurricane Igor.
Tracey Bean, SSL president, said: “There is no power at Bernard Park and the entire field is underwater.
“Youth and Sport hope, barring any further rain, the field will be ready by Thursday.”
He said that would also be dependent on BELCO restoring power to the field so the league could continue with its night schedule..
Bean said the schedule has been updated to take into account the number of games, which were postponed since last Wednesday.
Thursday’s games are scheduled to kick off at 6pm with Butterfield and Vallis taking on Bean’s Precision Panthers.
The season is roughly half over and Docksiders Tuff Dogs are the only undefeated team with a 5-0 record in the A Division.
Butterfeld & Vallis are second with Rosa’s Cantina Banditos and Bermuda Pest Control tied for third.
Bermuda Water Tours and CITI are jointly tied atop the B Division with 5-1 records. CITI has been particularly effective in allowing only 16 runs in six games.
Corporation of Hamilton and BEST Shipping are tied for third.
Red leads the Men’s Division with a 4-1 record followed by Blue (3-2, Black 2-3) and White (1-4).
