Logie, who declared himself pleased with the pre-World Cup workout the tournament had given his team, said: “I think it will be a great opportunity for the older players to form themselves into a Masters team.”
The coach said the decision to include the full-team in the tournament had been justified.
“It allowed me to see the players performing in pressure situations and in front of large crowds. A situation like that doesn't come along every day.
“The main thing was for them to be around world class players and see how they prepare and how they build an innings.
“It's a learning process. We have a few players out of form. But form is temporary - class is permanent.”
One of the event organizers, John Kane, said the details of next year's tournament had yet to be sorted out but he predicted it would become an annual event to rival his Rugby Classic.
And he said he was convinced most countries would bring stronger teams next year.
“We see that every year with the Rugby Classic. The first event, people don't see what it's all about, then they get out here and they see the facilities and the stadium and the standard of some of the other teams and they think we better improve.
“I think we'll definitely see that next year.”
He added that the issue of whether Bermuda would field a masters' team next year was still up in the air.
“We'll have to see. The idea was to provide the Bermuda national team with an increase in experience of playing high quality players in an intense atmosphere.”
He added that the success of the Bermuda team had contributed to the success of the tournament.
“That must be one of the biggest crowds ever at a sporting event in Bermuda,” he said of Saturday's final, which pulled in more than 5,000 spectators.
“We'd have got plenty of cricket lovers there anyway but there no doubt about it, Bermuda's success is what put it on the map.”[[In-content Ad]]
