Manders named cricket development director

Arnold Manders was appointed to the position of director of cricket development yesterday. Manders is the head of Health and Physical Education at Berkeley Institute. He has also had extensive administrative experience within the Bermuda School Sports Federation as treasurer, vice chairman and chairman. According to the Bermuda Cricket Board he will be expected to implement the following:

1. To develop and implement a 4 year rolling National Development Plan.

2. To increase the number of young people playing cricket in schools and clubs.

3. To raise the overall playing standards of performance throughout the Island.

4. To ensure that the training philosophy of the National Coach is followed through the youth National level.

Manders said in a press release: "I am very excited to accept the position of director of cricket development at the BCB. I have been involved with cricket from such a young age and it has always been a desire of mine to work with the BCB to install cricket once again as the sport of choice amongst youngsters."[[In-content Ad]]
