Dear Sir,

It wrenches my hurt out to see Bermuda being filled with a demonic mentality.  This is not a movie this is our life!

Our brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins - aren't we all related, aren't we one blood, one human species?

You know there was a time when we wanted to raise our children in Bermuda; now you have people frightened to death (LITERALLY) to go out dressed in their best clothing, or afraid to have money in their pockets. The atmosphere is filled with jealousy and murderous intent and it must be stopped.

The only language that Bermuda seems to understand is money or materialism. But how many businesses do you think will remain if the violence goes on? How many people will want their families to relocate here or moreover, who in their right minds will want to visit a country where it's not safe?

We took away capital punishment (hangings) or public floggings but for those youth who are reading this and did not have a clue, there used to be severe consequences for your actions. 

Today it's becoming the norm for serious violence to occur every weekend and you do not have to be into hard drugs, a thug life or a rowdy club to get clobbered or have your insides ripped out. I recall producing a road safety commercial demo with my partner and I was told that scare tactics do not work. Well here we are years later and guess what, in the rest of the real world they do!

 Sadly, we allow murderers to get off based on technicalities when we all know the truth. We hear people talking all the time stating that 'hey, if I do x, y or z I know I could get certain defence lawyers to get me off.'

 We all saw what happened with the Rebecca Middleton case; we all knew it was a matter of time before the blood of the innocent began to stain the moral fabrics of our society through all the shootings, stabbing and cold blooded killings! Now people do not even care who sees them; they are acting as animals surviving in the jungle. They know what they want and they just take it with no afterthought.

 We are not cavemen killing animals for food, garments or oil. But Bermuda is allowing the demons to roam freely, ravaging the community that took us 400 years to knit together. When I was growing up, a murder was a big thing, an unthinkable act. But but how many have been killed within the last five years compared to the previous 50 years? 

We need a revival; people need to get out of those church pews, get out of those cushy offices - parents must speak up! These are lives being snatched away. If we do not allow the Holy Spirit to take over we will be lost. It is not about being perfect but it is about loving one another and standing up for what is right.

We need to transform mindsets and the only way is to change the consequences of irreversible actions like cold blooded murder. To break it down politely it is like training a dog.  It may take time and a few slip ups but if you do not correct that dog then he will just poop and tear up wherever he chooses and why? because he knows you'll just clean up his mess. And when he has his dog friends over they'll just poop and tear up that house because they know they can and could care less until the master shows that there has to be some order!

 Come on my fellow Bermudians, you know lack of order leads to chaos and we can not expect or even want our politicians to do every thing without our help. Yes, laws can be changed but we need to let them know by lobbying for change.

 If we do nothing, the carnage will come closer to your doorstep until one day you get that call that it is your close family member whose life has been snatched.

How do you honestly think you will feel? I can't stomach the fact of youth being robbed of their innocence. However there is hope because they are still breathing. But I am sick and tired as are numerous Bermudians who expressed themselves to me of people playing GOD and snatching away lives. What type of soul do they have to be so cold hearted that they have no conscience?

 Haven't you heard the saying that if they are coming for your brothers or sisters, universal law and karma mandates that some day, somehow, you will have to answer for that or experience ten times worse when it happens to you or your loved ones? No one is immune; just as our planet earth revolves, that boomerang will come back at you in same shape or form.  

 And the result will be people taking the law into their own hands and we all know how that will turn out. So before we get to that point let us brainstorm, rise up and stomp this fire out... before the whole country is ablaze as it was during the riots of the seventies.
