Letter: RIP my little Jack Russell

Dear Sir,

My dog Tucker was featured in the Bermuda Sun on many occasions in particular your review of my book ‘Going About’ in which Tucker and I travelled on my 20’ sloop ‘Dart’ through the Waterways of the US and Canada.

Many local friends learned of our exploits travelling by motor home through England, Wales and Scotland.

Sadly my little companion of 14 years succumbed to lung cancer but died peacefully in my arms and was buried in the family homestead on March 19th, courtesy Dr Neil Burnie.

She was a ‘larger than life’ personality and well known locally and overseas.

In compiling an email listing I realized she had more friends than her skipper!

I have received wonderful tributes paid to her memory from Texas, Connecticut, California and England and her many local friends.

This week I created a new cocktail. Four ice cubes, a splash of Jack Daniels, a splash of  Martini Rossi, top up with Orangina – delicious – it’s a Jack Russell.
