The Bermuda Environment and Sustainability Taskforce (BEST) congratulates Lindo's Market for its bold decision to discontinue using disposable shopping bags and institute the exclusive use of reusable bags.

Disposable shopping bags, both plastic and paper, contribute to waste and pollution in Bermuda and all over the world in many ways both obvious and unseen. Reducing their use helps the environment and makes our existing more sustainable."

We have noticed that other supermarkets are already poised to follow suit. We therefore give Lindo's group of markets the green "thumbs up" for taking the lead in being a part of the solution.
