Letter: Closing primary schools 'a retrograde step'
I think that the closing of five primary schools would be a great mistake.
The most successful schools in Bermuda are its primary schools, and therefore to close any of them would adversely effect Bermuda's educational system.
I hope that very careful consideration will be given by the Ministry of Education in respect of the advisability of closing the five schools.
The Gilbert Institute is recognised as one of the best primary schools on the island and I and many others consider that it would be a retrograde step to close it.
