Letter: Bermuda needs a more just society
Bob Stewart wrote last week about "greed and self-interest'.
Self-interest alone should ensure we do a better job of creating an economy that can be run by Bermudians, rather than one which ensures they are squeezed out of employment by European and American whites and Third World browns and blacks - even if it means the 'haves' have less, with a lower standard of living. A more just society with less crime is more desirable than the ability to boast that we have such a high standard of living - one enjoyed by so few Bermudians because the 'haves' show amazing indifference to the 'have nots'.
This is particularly due to so much taxpayer money being spent on foreign 'consultants' and others for which we often receive little or no appropriate returns.
