Latin changes its focus and name
The restaurant run by the Island Restaurant Group (IRG) will be called Latin Churrascaria ~ Fine Steaks & Nuevo Latino Cuisine as of tomorrow.
In addition to the new name, new menus will also be available for customers.
Philip Barnet, president of IRG, explained the evolution. “Latin opened two years ago, almost to the day, and at one of our regular management meetings a few months ago, it was remarked about how popular one particular menu item was.
“Chimichurri Churrasco was the dish, which is grilled skirt steak with an Argentinean Chimichurri dipping sauce.
“That one item outsold all other entrees on the menu by a significant amount, and when canvassing some of our better regulars they confirmed that it is one of the best tasting steaks on the island.”
He continued: “So we brainstormed, and pole vaulting with that success, came up with the idea of evolving into more of a Steakhouse concept.
“Considering that both Argentina and Brazil, two of our countries of influence at Latin, are globally known for amazing beef, we considered it a natural evolution.”
Churrascaria roughly translated means ‘restaurant that serves barbeque or grilled meats’.
