MONDAY, JULY 30: It wasn’t the start Jesse and Zander Kirkland would have hoped for at this Olympics.

The brothers, sailing in the 49er class, did not finish their first race and were 19th in the second. That leaves them 20th out of 20.

Emmanuel Dyen and Stephane Christidis of France were first, followed by Allan Norregaard and Peter Lang of Norway. The Canadian team of Gordon Cook and Hunter Lowden were third.

Australia’s Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen won the second race, followed by Bernardo Freitas and Francisco Andrade of Portugal, and Jonas von Geijer and Niclas During of Sweden.

Racing tomorrow will take place at 8am.
