Robert Giglio, duty meterologist at the Bermuda Weather Service, said the storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane again.
And he said Bermuda is likely to see 20kt winds and southeast swells by the middle of next week.
But pressure associated with the Azores-Bermuda high is expected to keep the storm well to our south.
As of today’s 6am forecast the closest point of approach to Bermuda within the next 72 hours was forecast to be 562 nautical miles to the south-southeast at 6am on Monday.
Current forecast models suggest the storm will eventually veer north, splitting Bermuda and the US mainland without seriously affecting either.[[In-content Ad]]
