Bermuda’s emergence as a reckoning force in junior international tennis has caught the attention of the sport’s world governing body.
Due on island later this week is ITF regional development officer Anthony Jeremiah who will run the proverbial rule over some of the best youth talent Bermuda has to offer during a whirlwind visit.
That the ITF have taken a vested interest in the island’s thriving youth programme owes much to the advances Bermuda has made on the world stage at that level.
Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association president David Lambert, said: “We are participating in all of the ITF disciplines and are having strong results in all of these tournaments. So we are pleased to say that Mr. Jeremiah will be back to assist the BLTA in any way he can on behalf of the ITF who are seeing the results.
“I think one of the most important things about Mr. Jeremiah’s visit this time is to offer information, especially to our juniors and our parents on how to take advantage of all the ITF has to offer.”
ITF technical advisor John Goede is due back in Bermuda next week after visiting Bermuda just last month.
