I'm not as fast as I was
The skelton competitor is aiming to produce a good result ahead of the 2010 Olympics. If he qualifies, he'll join Brian Wellman and Peter Bromby as the island's only four-time Olympians.
He's currently training with England's squad and they'll be moving their base to Italy at the start of September as he begins to ramp up his quest to qualify for the Olympics in six months time.
"I've had really solid summer training. I began full-time training in May. It's been pretty painful stuff. Now it's starting to pay off. I'm not as fast as I was four years ago."
He said that's not a big deal because he's been working on improving his strength.
"I'm a lot stronger than I was four years ago. In the next six weeks I'm going to transfer that strength into speed. All I really do is eat, sleep, train really hard and play the Bermuda Sun's Fantasy Football League."
He believes he will be there when the torch is lit in Canada.
"It would be fantastic to represent my country at a fourth Olympic Games. It's less than six months to go.
"I really love what I do. Going to the Olympic Games is the icing on the cake."
He said being attached to England's squad gives him an advantage as he attempts his campaign.
"The technology that's coming out of here is very cutting edge. It will revolutionize many sports once it gets out. It's just really incredible to be in this environment."
He issued a word of caution though: "We have a whole lot of weapons to release, but at the end of the day those things don't help if you can't execute."
Singleton feels he can do that, but his worry is elsewhere. "I have the tools and the experience. The key for me is to stay healthy. On paper, I should qualify, and I will give it my best effort."
His racing season will begin in the third week in November. His best seven races will count towards Olympic qualification.
