Holy Mackerel!

While the Marlins and Snappers rolled themselves into a 2-2 draw, Mackerel gained on the leaders with a 3-1 victory over Piranhas. With two nights of league bowling left, the Marlins have a half point lead over Snappers and 1.5 points over Mackerel.

The Barracuda is four points behind the Marlins and kept their slim title hopes alive with a 3-1 victory over Jellyfish.

The bottom of the tables clash saw Orca swallow Tuna 3-1 and now sits 2.5 points behind their rivals.

The only whitewash of the week saw Goldfish take four from Hinds.

Other scores included: Porgies and Wahoo draw; and Cow Pollies beat Dolphins 3-1.

Patrice Tucker, who has the league's highest average for a woman, continued her success with a 204 game and 616 series. Cathy Kemp had high series honours with a 653. Olivette Armstrong also bowled well by barely missing a 200 by one pin and rolling a 639 series.

Warriors League

Kickapoo is making a late push to take the league title with a 4-0 triumph over Blackfoot. They did it in grand style rolling a team high 2,630 series - 340 pins better than Blackfoot. Wendell Burrows helped lead Kickapoo with a 607 scratch series, He had 200s by rolling a 205 in his second game and one-upped himself with a 223 in the third.

Commanche drew 2-2 with Cherokee despite Mickael Ebbin (649) and Timothy Lightbourn (628) rolling the two highest handicap series for men.

The Mohicans took three of four from Choctaw as Tanya Iris rolled a 170 scratch game. Sharon Davis had a brilliant series for Choctaw with a 649.

Mohawk lost 1-3 to Navaho. The Navaho were led by Kathy Burgess' 633 series and Audrey Gorden's 185 scratch game. Charles Williams (235) and Ryan Wilson (205) both topped the 200 mark.

Commercial League

King Pins lurched ahead of BTC in one of the league's greatest title chases. The two teams have been flip-flopping the lead over the past six weeks with King Pins gaining the upperhand this week with a 3-1 victory over Sweet Life. That coupled with a BTC 3-1 loss to Spinners, gives King Pins a 1 game lead.

The Royal Gazette kept ahead of Strikers as the two sides drew 2-2.

The league's other matches saw Sunset beat Double Trouble 3-1 and the Braves taking down Do It Best Masters 3-1.

There were plenty of 200s to go around with Aesop Smith leading the way with a 244. Michael Richardson (233) and Alvin Outerbridge (226) were also in the top three among the men. Kristal Davis (226) was tops amongst the women, but Sharon DeShields (208) also had a great game. Davis also had the high handicap series as she rolled a 686. DeShields (617) and Dee Griffiths (589) took second and third high honours. Alvin Outerbridge and Aesop Smith were the best men with a 612. Chris Leverock (592) and Kenny Ford (579) also rolled well.
