Goldfish sweep, remain undefeated

While a perfect season is unlikely, Goldfish have kept that possibility open with their third straight sweep in the Fishbowl League. Goldfish took all four games from the Marlins to run their record to 12-0.

Snappers took three of four from Dolphins to remain in second, but are now two games back.

Porgies blanked Tuna to move into a tie for third with Mackerel. Other scores saw Mackerel win 3-1 over Barracuda, Flying Fish take three from Cow Pollies, Hammerheads beat Wahoo 3-1 and Piranhas and Hinds split their match.

Joshua Bento rolled a 242 scratch game to lead all bowlers. Bento also had the high handicap game with a 259. Tim Doyle (224), Albert Botelho (216) and Lucky Pitcher (208) were the top Division 2 men. Gladwin Harvey had a 208 scratch while William Steede also got a coveted 200 in Division 1.

The top women were Cathee Tumbridge (192), Prudy Spriggs (180), Corinne Durrant (179), Judy Aldred (169), Joannie Harper (169) Karen Simmons (167) and Cynthia Bartolome (155). High handicap honours went to Gladwin Harvey (632) and Judy Aldred (590).

Barritts' League

Southside Two kept their lead with a 26.5 to 3.5 triumph over Stash T. It was a week of big wins as Pembroke Jrs. Rolled to a 26 to 4 victory against The Old & The New while PHC downed Buy & Sell 26 to 4.

Other scores saw Young Bloods douse Sparks 21 to 9 and Southside One beat Logic Rollers 19 to 11. Peter Winsby had the high game with a 256. Chris Leverock (246) edged Kevin Swan by one pin for second high game honours.

Commercial Bowling League

Both King Pins and Braves moved past BTC into a first place tie with 4-0 victories this week. King Pins beat Sweet Life 4-0 while Braves whitewashed Sunset 4-0.

BTC had its worst week of the season in falling to Do It Best masters 3-1. Other scores saw Double Trouble beat Spinners 3-1 and Strippers blanked the Royal Gazette 4-0.

Anthony Smith led all bowlers with a 241 game. Maurice Lowe and Alvin Outerbridge also rolled well with 231 and 221 games respectively.

Shirieka Shakir continued her good early season form with a 171 game while Kennelyn Smith (169) and Veney Sims (167) also had high scratch games. Maurice Lowe had the high handicap series with a 662. Anthony Smith (629) and Alvin Outerbridge (615) also topped 600. The top ladies were Tiffany Glasford (602), Mary Gaye Dean (598) and Brenda Jean Smith (537).
