Gazette in Double Trouble

Double Trouble stands alone atop the Commercial Bowling League after blanking the Royal Gazette 4-0 on Monday.

Double Trouble were tied with King Pins for first, but the Pins fell 3-1 to the Strikers.

Others cores saw BTC Braves and Sweet Life all win 3-1 over Sunset, Do It Best Masters and Spinners respectively.

Anthony Smith rolled a 228 game, just edging out Michael Honore's 224. Wayne Raynor was also in good form with a 217. High handicap series honours went to Michael Richardson (634), Smith (633) and Albert Gordon (628).

The best ladies were Doreen Smith (179 scratch game, 628 handicap series), Marilyn Simmons (177 game), Terrylyn Jones (174 game), Doreen Smith (628 series) and Lynne Cann (598 series).

Fishbowl League

Piranhas remain in first, but perennial powerhouse Marlins have inched their way back into contention.

Piranhas drew 2-2 with Barracuda as Peter Winsby rolled a 220 scratch game and a 628 handicap series. The Marlins took three of four from Cow Pollies and are now just two games back after starting the season 0-4. Other scores saw Goldfish beat Snappers 4-0 and Dolphins doing the same to Mackerel. Wahoo downed Orca 3-1 and Hinds defeated Wahoo 3-1. Tuna and Jellyfish drew 2-2. Juliette Smith was the only woman to roll a 200. Gladwin Harvey (244), Joshua Bento (222), Alpheus Santucci (219), Mark Jolley (213) and Gregory White (209) were some of the top men.
